Letter to Friends and Family: If your here, you have a purpose!

Writer: Robin CapehartRobin Capehart

Dear Friends and Family,

Sometimes we might think we've missed our chance to contribute in a meaningful way, especially as we grow older. But it's essential to hold onto the truth that with God, it's never too late to start anew—no matter our age.

"God has plans to give us hope and a future," Jeremiah 29:11 encourages us. This beautiful promise isn’t limited by how old we are; it's for everyone, at every stage of our journey.

Every day we’re alive, every breath we take is a testament to our purpose. As Psalm 139:16 reveals, God knew every day of our lives before we took our first breath. This means our existence is intentional, regardless of our age.

You might be asking, "Have I run out of time?" The story of the Talents in Matthew 25:14-30 teaches us that the true measure is not in how much time we have, but in our willingness to use what we’ve been given for the greater good. Our past, with its wealth of lessons and experiences, is invaluable—it’s never too late to share that wealth to inspire and help others.

So, what do we do now? Recognize that each day is a precious gift, an opportunity to make a difference. Through prayer, immersing ourselves in Scripture, and being open to where God leads us, we can find clarity in our purpose. Romans 8:28 reminds us that God works all things together for good for those who love Him, integrating both our joys and our challenges into His greater plan.

Remember, our purpose is not about serving ourselves. It's about serving God and serving other people.

Consider your strengths and the journey you’ve been on. How can you use these to benefit others? Your life’s story, your wisdom gained over the years, holds the power to uplift someone in need.

The message is clear: No matter our age, it's never too late to make a positive impact. Life is full of opportunities to act meaningfully. We are all called to fulfill God’s purpose—a purpose that doesn’t retire or become outdated.

Let us not look back with regret but instead face each new day with the determination to use our gifts for good. This approach helps us uncover our true purpose at any age.

When our time comes to meet our Creator, we might be asked about how we used the talents we were given. God’s concern isn’t with the magnitude of our talents but with our willingness to act. These talents, irrespective of our age or physical capabilities, are not to be measured by worldly standards. God knows what we are capable of and encourages us to use our talents in His service.

Your experiences, wisdom, and insights are tools to serve God and fulfill your divine purpose. Engaging in this service brings unspeakable joy, reinforcing the value of every day as an opportunity to live according to God’s plan.

If you ever find yourself questioning your purpose, especially as you grow older, turn to prayer and Scripture. Keep moving forward with faith. God has a unique way of guiding us to where we need to be, at precisely the right time.

Life is God’s most precious gift to us. If you’re still here, you have a purpose – or God would’ve taken you.

Let’s embrace it fully, making every day count, and using our talents in service to Him. This is the path to discovering the incredible value of each moment and the profound opportunity every day offers to fulfill our divine purpose, at any age.

Warmest personal regards,

Robin
